This year, JW Player’s Management API received major upgrades and is now referred to in our support and developer documentation as Platform Management API v2 (or simply v2). This updated version has full feature parity with Platform Management API v1, but includes back-end improvements to make the service more performant and reliable.
In addition to the capabilities of Platform Management API v1, v2 includes the following improvements:

- Granular access control
- RESTful API design practices
- Ease of use

How to use JW Player’s Delivery API
The JW Platform Delivery API, on the other hand, is designed to programmatically deliver video content and custom playback experiences in high volumes.
With the Delivery API, you can extend and build on top of JW Player’s out-of-the-box video player to create a chromeless UI, customize branding, set up Recommendations, and more.
This API uses multiple CDN vendors and short caching to optimize response time globally. The content service packages your library into easily consumable templates including RSS and JSON feeds, single-line player embeds and adaptive bitrate streaming manifests.
